Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB)

Biomass Supplies has been RSB certified since 26th August 2015

Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials – RSB – is an independent and global multi-stakeholder coalition which works to promote the sustainability of biomaterials. RSB’s certification scheme is the strongest and most trusted of its kind. It verifies that biomaterials are ethical, sustainable and credibly-sourced. The certification is approved by RSB’s members, including leading NGOs and UN agencies who set global best practice for sustainable biomaterial production.

RSB-certified biomaterials helps build trust and credibility in the bio-based sector and supports a healthy bio-based community.

South Pole Group

South Pole Group is providing the carbon development services to Biomass Group. Registration work began on the 1st of September 2017.

South Pole Group is the global pioneer in sustainability solutions. This company successfully developed over 500+ emission reduction projects in – among others – renewables, forestry, agriculture, industry, as well as urban mitigation and adaptation in over 30 different countries.

South Pole has a team of 130 carbon market experts demonstrates the realities of sustainable solutions for its clients – from the United Nations to the world’s leading financial institutions to major global brands.

As part of its plans for financing supply development activities, the Biomass Group is developing a carbon credits project to be verified under the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standards (CCBS) rules and regulations to generate Voluntary Emission Reductions (VERs) from the carbon fixation in the trunk and roots of the Gliricidia trees. This will generate a financial value in the global carbon market.

Biomass Group will ensure a percentage of the funds generated from the sale of carbon credits will flow back to the stakeholders who are the true owners of those benefits.

UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. It delivers a call to action to companies to align their strategies and operations with universal principles on: human right; labour; environment and anti-corruption; and, taking actions that advance societal goals.

Business call to Action (BCtA)

Biomass Supplies has been an active member of Business call to Action since March 2016.

Launched at the United Nations in 2008, Business Call to Action (BCtA) aims to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by challenging companies to develop inclusive business models that engage people at the base of the economic pyramid.
